I think
Maadi club is lucky to have Mohamed Medhat
managing the academy. An international junior player and an
International professional player. He is a very experienced coach;
in addition he helped me out to reach this level with some
beneficial pieces of advice. He taught me techniques and how to
manage my tournaments and how to set a schedule to manage my time.
Medhat used to train me, as well, through playing a lot of
games. He also played for El Ahly, at this time we trained
together
in Maadi club. I had this chance that he was with me in my
first professional tournament in Philadelphia.
I am
training in England for almost 1 year and 3 months with Jonah
Barrington, the difference between training in Egypt and England
that training in Egypt is better in quality and we have better
players but in England the training is much more organized u know
exactly what are u going to do also training with Jonah Barrington
helped me a lot to develop my game that’s because he was a
professional player actually he is the one who made the game
professional and he knows how a professional player life style
should be , that’s why I think the coming generations in Egypt are
very lucky because most of the trainers were professional players
like Mohamed and I am sure they can develop our talented
junior players to be professionals .
Well, I will tell you about the best two Tournments that I wont
forget.
Men's World Junior 98:The happiest moment in my life when I was very
near from this title “World Juniors Champion”. I reached the final
match but unfortunately I did not…..This unforgettable happy moment
I keep reminding myself by before entering any tournaments to
release tension and pressure. Qatar
Open 2007: I played with Lee Beachil in the quarter final. In
this game the winner was going to reach the top ten in professional
ranking. Fortunately, I won the match and I became from those top
ten professional players for the first time in my career.
Squash
is a very famous sport. Yet, it doesn’t appear on the list of the
Olympic Games. May be the main reason is that the powerful countries
such as Japan and USA do not participate in this sport. In addition
Our concern is to bring this beautiful sport to the Olympic Games in
London 2012. We exert a lot of effort in training and
traveling that makes us deserve to enter this enormous competition.
Moreover, Squash has many fans all over the world.
There
was an innovative idea that I hardly believed that it will finally
be in Egypt. This new thing is applied in football academies;
however, it will be seen for the first time in Squash. A selection
of some talented players from Maadi Squash Pro’s to
participate in one of the three camps we chose in Millfield
Academy. Consequently, Jonah Barrington could watch those
who play and offer them scholarships in his Academy. From
Millfield Academy we can exchange players to be trained in
Maadi Squash Pro’s too. This will be an exchange program
supervised by Mohamed Medhat
I have
an advice for the parents which is not to interfere in coaches work
because they understand much more than u do in squash and in
fitness , I see parents who never played squash before and arguing
with the coaches about the quantity and type of training.
